WATCH: Rediscovering the Book of Exodus – Passover (2018) – Rabbi Akwetey Amaah/Hebrew Nation Building

Shalom, everyone! The following is a lecture by Rabbi Akwetey Amaah on the first Passover outlined in the Book of Exodus, and how that experience of our ancient Ehveh ancestors relates to us today. This lecture was given at the recent Passover celebrations hosted by Hebrew Nation Building in Selma, Alabama. When it comes to the Ehvehs, history definitely repeats itself – the sale of Joseph into slavery and the Exodus were repeated in our experience both in Africa and in the Americas during the Transatlantic Slave Trade. Rabbi Akwetey discusses ancient Ehveh culture and names, and why the Transatlantic Slave Trade was so devastating to our community. Once our enemies took our names away from us, we lost our identity, therefore, we lost everything – language, history, culture, connection to our Ehveh ancestors and our covenant with the Creator of the Universe. In these last days, The Creator is raising up teachers from the peoples of our ancestors who never lost their connection with our ancient Ehveh language, history and culture. It is vital that we reconnect with the culture of our ancestors through our kinsmen in West Africa so that our identity will be restored, and so that we will become the kingdom of kings The Creator intended us to be:
