WATCH: The Migration from Israel to West Africa (2018) – Rabbi Akwetey Amaah/Hebrew Nation Building

Shalom, everyone! The following is a lecture by Rabbi Akwetey Amaah on the migration of the Ehveh people from Israel to West Africa. This lecture was given at the recent Passover celebrations hosted by Hebrew Nation Building in Selma, Alabama. The Ehveh migration occurred over a course of over 2,000 years. The migration route stretched from Israel to Assyria and then south along the Nile River into EgyptEthiopia (Abyssinia), and Kush (Meroe), and then west into West Africa, and even south into southern Africa. Along the way, the Ehvehs splintered into many more tribes and developed numerous dialects. The Israelite tribes of Judah, Levi, Gad, and Dan are currently in West Africa. Millions of their members were kidnapped and enslaved during the Transatlantic Slave Trade, and are now known today as African-Americans and African-Caribbeans.

Rabbi Akwetey also shows pictures of Passover/Homowo celebrations in Ghana, showing how the holiday is still being celebrated according to the pre-exilic customs; and also reveals the real reason why the House of Israel went down to Egypt to be sold into slavery, as YAH prophesied to Abraham. The narrative in the Torah is our history, not just a Bible story:

  1. Rabbi Akwetey, Thank you so much!!! I want to read everything you have on your website! Would you happen to have this lecture on the migration of the Tribes into Africa in typed form or in the complete video form? I am very interested in the information. I noted that you were able to account for the movements of Judah, Levi, Dan and Gad. My Ancestry DNA results read backwards: Middle East 1%, Bantu 1%, Senegal 5%,Mali 6%, Benin/Togo 12 %, Ivory Coast/Ghana 20%, and Cameroon/Congo 36%. I realize that what is now called the Middle East was Eastern Africa back then–prior to the Suez Canal. So looking at this, can you tell which tribe I came from? Have you info on the other six Tribes? I have quite a few of your videos and found the one on the name of the Creator mind blowing. All these years, reading the King James version of the bible, I thought “Christian” bore the name of Christ — and that was it. Since I learned that I am Israelite and started looking for groups to meet with, I have found that there are as many different Israelite groups in the U.S. with different beliefs as there are Sunday church-denominations,I have the impression that everyone is “doing that which is right in their own eyes” so I decided to forego joining any group—and keep studying and researching. You have helped me tremendously and I will utilize your resource page too. I am 78 years of age and live in Jackson, Mississippi in the U.S.A. I was able to research my family history back to my great-great-grandmother, who was born during slavery, but was unable to track it back any further. I want to get all of this straight before I pass away, so I can leave a written record for my children, grandchildren and posterity to know who they are and the way forward. Again, thank you so much for all the work you have done on this to help others.
